The American Volkssport Association (AVA) promotes health, fun and fellowship through non competitive walking and other sporting events for everyone. We are fortunate to have our own AVA club here in Kititas County. The Ellensburg Wind Walker's host four AVA walks that are available 7 days a week from April to October. All walkers need to register and the starting points and walking maps for those are listed below. Wind Walker's also lead 5K walks every Tuesday in Ellensburg.

AVA Summer Events:
Inn at Suncadia: 10K with a 6K option. Trail rated 1+. Follow the paved paths and roads around Suncadia. Map and registration at Suncadia Lodge front desk. City of Roslyn: 10K with a 5K option. Trail rated 2. Walk through Roslyn, cemetery area and along Coal Miners Trail. Map and registration at Suncadia Lodge front desk. Citty of Ellensburg: 10K with a 5K option. Rated 2. Walk through downtown, CWU, local park and cemetery. Map and registration at Starbucks on University Way and 10th Street. Ellensburg Riverfront: 10K. Rated 1+. Walk to Daman School and through Irene Rineheart Park. Map and registration at Best Wetern on Umptanum.
Tuesday 5K walks:
1st Tuesday--Kiwanis Park (from parking lot)
2nd Tuesday--Memorial Park (from behind picnic shelters on 7th St.)
3rd Tuesday--Irene Rineheart Park (from trailhead just off Umptanum)
4th Tuesday--Mountain View Park (meet at north side parking area)
5th Tuesday--West Ellensburg Park (meet by gazebo)
